I love it when families are happy to adventure with me. Erika was so excited from the get go! As soon as I met them I was pumped, their energy, love for one another and their infectious happiness rocked!! Also they brought wine and a picnic basket for us to share on the shoot!!! I always tell my clients to have fun, make it a day you will remember, do whatever you need to relax or celebrate the love you all have for each other. Be open to craziness, running wild, maybe even getting a little bit emotional at times. Families make us cry happy tears sometimes and that is amazing to capture. And most of all be raw and yourself. You don’t want to look back and feel like it wasn’t really you.
Before your session I always get you to answer some questions about yourself and your family. Erika & Sean killed it! They it for each other and I have to share as it made me smile so much reading it. The more you can tell me before a session the better your session will be. I get to know you a bit more! We won’t feel like stranger, we will feel like friends.
So here it is written by Erika & Sean!
Erika writes ~ We have been married for almost 7 years and mates before that (we actually used to work together).
Sean is the brains of the operation, he’s a freak with spreadsheets – I call him my human calculator and he’s awesome at anything he tries. He’s also the sports nut in the family and can remember sports trivia from forever ago (seriously helpful at pub trivia). He is also one the of funniest people you will meet.
Sean is from Maroubra so we spent our first married life over in the Eastern suburbs. We lived in Thailand for almost 4 years after that until we found out we were having our (happy surprise) baby and moved back to be closer to family.
We chose Cronulla and we love it here. Finnley was pretty unwell for his first year of life and so this past year has been so nice to finally get to know him properly.
We love going to the beach, picking flowers, going for walks and to the park. We are pretty social and have a big family so we are very often surrounded by a large bunch of people and laughter.
Sean writes ~ Erika brings the height, heart and glamour to the family. A super mum and super wife Erika just loves to help people. That big heart ensures she always has something to give, her height gives her a great vantage point to see when her friends need help and her glamour means she looks good doing it.
With a sense of humour to match, her husband is known as that guy who is clearly punching above his weight.
Finnley is 21 months old and is a determined, cheeky, funny and clever boy. His current obsession is garbage trucks, numbers and letters, the wiggles and flowers. No matter what is is doing he is constantly chattering away.
Our style is probably beachy casual but Erika loves in particular 70s boho style and can very often be found frequenting op shops.
