What I do
My family sessions are fun, relaxed and adventurous. My main focus is hearing your family story, what makes your families heart skip a beat, it’s all about love and connection, I want to capture THIS!
At your session with me try to let go of all expectations of what it’s going to be like, let go of worrying about how the kids are going to act, let go of perfection. I give your kids a chance to be themselves and run a little wild. I’m intuitive and am quick to make you feel at ease. I soften any forced or awkward smiles with my warm and genuine personality. There’s always plenty of laughter.
The sessions are all about YOU! I remind my families to always to be adventures, raw, allow venerability and quiet moments, bring beers, soak up the sun, do what you love! The more you allow it to be real the more authentic the images will turn out. It’s not about being all smiley at the camera. I always say think of it like you are hanging with a friend instead of a shoot.
I photograph those flashes of wide-eyed surprise and delight. I capture those gazes full of whimsical wonderment between your cherished loved ones, sealed with tender gestures of touch. You will receive images full of raw emotions and true connection.
You have the choice of a family in-home lifestyle session or a location session where we can adventure somewhere and create a story.
For outdoor sessions I want you to respect the land we are on and see the beauty. At all my sessions outside we dont just stay in one spot, we wonder, we explore, we feel.
What I ask of you is to get a little wild and curious, (this is a big one) be completely present with your kids, play with them, comfort them, smell them, feel their skin and hair, love them! Make sure you don’t rush to session, be prepared so everyone is relaxed when they arrive. If you feel disconnected and rushed let me know when you arrive. We can always do a little mediation, something to help you feel more grounded or have a chat about how you are feeling before we start. I want you to get the most out of me and to be able to look back at the photos and remember how you felt, the love you have for your family and a real and honest reflection of your story. Sometimes it might not all be smiles, it could be tears and vulnerability, and that’s ok.
